Their Excellencies Gregoire and Giovanna, Baron and Baronessa of Cynnabar, invite you to show your martial prowess at a Grand Tournament to determine the Best of the Best!

Join us on Saturday, November 8th at the Washtenaw Farm Council, 5055 Ann Arbor Saline Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48103. Here is a map to the site. Take I-94 to the Ann Arbor-Saline Road Exit. Take Ann Arbor-Saline Road South (towards Saline) and the Farm Council Grounds will be on the left.

Site Opens: 9:00 a.m.
Court: 5:00 p.m.-ish
Site Closes: 8:00 p.m.

Site Fee: $7(plus $3 for non-SCA members)

Fighters & Fencers: Come Ready to Fight!
There will be lots of opportunities to fight! Armor inspection, authorizations and registration for the tournaments will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
There will be many wonderful prizes to be awarded to the winners of the tournaments.

Heavy Tourney Info:
Viking Holmgang Tourney Matching center boss shields
Counted Blows Tourney
Round Robin Pool Tourney
As Armored Tourney (First Good blow on plate, mail, or leather doesn't count. Closed helms are immune to thrust except in eyes)

The Cynnabar Grand Tournament. Those combatants participating in the Grand Tournament will process, so bring you best looking stuff!

Fencing Tourney Info:

There will be authorizations going on before the tournies start marshals permitting.
A Novice Tourney (novice defined as having been authorized for less than one year and not having won a tournament before)
This will be a double elimination tournament with each bout being best of 5. Bring any weapon styles you are comfortable with and are authorized in.

So, You are NOT a Bronze Ring Tourney
There will be a tournament open only to those students of the sword who have not yet received their Bronze Rings.
This will be fought in a Round Robin format with any style acceptable.

Endurance Tournament
Open to all fencers. This would be a best of 3 (fight all 3 bouts) Bear Pit with 2 lists running.
You only score if you win the best of 3 bout and then only 1 point. If you step out you lose 1 point.
If you stay in when you shouldn't, and the chirugeon is called to deal with this, you lose all points. Don't be dumb!

Bronze Ring ONLY Tournament (If enough interest)
With discussion as the bouts progress. This means if there are enough members of the Order of the Bronze Ring
in attendance and they are willing. The point will be to have a tournament as a learning experience for the onlookers.
The tournament will be run in 3 parts: 1) The competition between Warders, 2) The willingness of the Warders to teach what they display, 3) The ability of onlookers to learn what can be taught.

Cross-over Grand Tournament
Open only to those students of the sword who are authorized in both rattan combat and fencing.
The participants will fight in both styles and the winner will be the participant with the most number of wins, counting both tournaments.
All fighters are asked to bring a prize (something that you wouldn't mind getting for a prize).
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Tourney based on points.
There should also be an open list throughout the day, except, perhaps, during the endurance tournament.

Youth Combat:
If Marshals, and area permitting. If you have any questions please contact Sir RanthulfR.

Merchants: Sell Your Stuff!
We've got space for merchants to hawk their wares. Contact: Lady Amyon.

Site Details
The site is a fairgrounds, and the building may have housed animals sometime during the year. Those of you with allergies will want to plan ahead. The buildings are heated but rustic. There will be chairs, but you may wish to bring your own. Please dress warmly if the weather is expected to be nippy. There are no showers available.

There will be a lunch tavern available, and there are plenty of restaurants and other food options within minutes of the site.

For more information, contact the event Steward: Lady Amyon (Pat West).
